The Town of Chocowinity provides water and sewer to
residences/businesses inside the town limits and the Cypress Landing
area. The rates for the utilities are provided below.
Every year the Water/Sewer Dept. sends out an annual water quality

BILLING
All water/sewer bills are mailed out on the last day of the month and are
due on the 25th of each month. If your payment is not made by the 25th of
the month, a late charge of $10.00 will be added to you balance and your
water may be cut off. There will be a $25.00 reconnection fee added to the
past due balance and the entire amount must be paid before service will
be reconnected. No second notice will be given. Reconnection's will be
made only during regular business hours.

Water Flow Rate (Inside/Outside) -
$2.00 per 1,000 gallons of water used up to 4,000 gallons
$2.50 per 1,000 gallons of water used between 4,001 to 8,000 gallons
$3.00 per 1,000 gallons of water used from 8,001 gallons and up
Sewer Flow Rate (Inside/Outside) -
$5.85 per 1,000 gallons of water used up to 4,000 gallons
$7.30 per 1,000 gallons of water used between 4,001 to 8,000 gallons
$8.78 per 1,000 gallons of water used from 8,001 gallons and up
*Customers are charges WATER & SEWER when they irrigate their lawns.
We can adjust the sewer for a pool or a hot tub. If you are filling either
one, please let us know before filling it so that we may give you a meter to
determine gallons used.
*Please contact the Public Works Director for prices on Water Taps larger
than 3/4" size.

Sewer Inspections (New Installations) are $25.00 per trip.
This is an important notice concerning the sewer system serving the
customers connecting to the town's sewer system.
1. It is the contractors responsibility to arrange an on-site meeting with a
representative from the Town Public Works Dept. to determine the
location of the STEP tank prior to plumbing rough in. Any locations
determined without our approval may not be acceptable. The tanks must
be located on a town approved site. Any plumbing connection problems
that may arise by contractors unauthorized actions are not the
responsibility of the town.
2. After a tank is set and the first inspection is approved, we will place
green flags around the tank. Please keep traffic off these tanks. It is not a
traffic designed tank. Any indication of traffic will warrant an additional
inspection fee. If any damage has occurred, that tank will be rejected and
service will not be allowed until repaired or replaced.
There is information at the Town Hall about the STEP systems. Please
contact the Public Works Department if you have any questions
concerning our system. We will be glad to assist you.
